FAQ

Questions, gently answered.

What does Melo do?
Melo is a daily music journal. You write a sentence or two about your day, and Melo composes a 30-second ambient track that captures the mood — so you build a year of music instead of a year of unread pages.
How is the music generated?
Each entry is sent to Google's Lyria 2 ambient model with a prompt built from your words. You can regenerate up to three times until the track fits. Entries written in a non-English locale are translated to English only for the prompt — your original text is stored verbatim.
Is Melo free?
Melo includes a 7-day free trial of Melo Plus. After the trial it is $2.99/week or $49.99/year (about $0.96/week). Cancel any time in iOS Settings.
What languages does Melo support?
English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese. Melo picks up your device language automatically and you can override it in Settings.
Is my data private?
Yes. Entries are private to your account, stored encrypted, never sold, and never used to train other models. Voice transcription happens on-device using Apple's Speech framework — only the text you confirm is uploaded. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. Melo is iPhone-first. If you'd like to be notified when Android arrives, drop us a line.
